Now, here are 55 sure-fire tips for sales success:

1. Set definite short, medium and long term selling goals.

2. Quiet or bad selling times do not last forever, nor are they unbearable. Just keep plugging away and you will make it.

3. There is no one that is hopeless, only salespeople who have lost hope.

4. Always desire success, because lesser salespeople will fall by the wayside.

5. Take it easy, have goals but be gentle with yourself.

6. Enjoy the journey. The destination will be only be a fleeting moment.

7. Sometimes if yuou reach a plateau that you can't pass, stop and do something that you can do easily. For example, a weight lifter when he is unable to break a certain barrier will sometimes back up and take a lighter weight. When he has again built up his courage he will again attempt a new plateau. If youget a customer who you find impossible to close the sale with, move on to another hopefully easier customer who will offer you an easy close.

8. Fears are learned, and therefore can be unlearned. If you start to fear that you will lose a sale, don't. You are a winner and you just know that you will make it in the end.

9. To motivate any sales staff working under you, praise them and say, 'I have great salespeople working with me.'

10. Your own attitude towards customers often determines how they react with you.

11. If your sales staff make costly mistakes, take the view you have invested in their education and teach them what they have done wrong.

16. Use your bonus money wisely to buy things you enjoy, and wisely enjoy the things your bonus money buys.

17. Try to limit your customer's decision to a simple yes or no. Do not risk losing the sale because the customer also has to decide for example, which colour they prefer.

35. Ensure that your selling procedures are simple by using the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid.)

36. If you have to sell a product that you have no interest in, the best way to gain an interest is to involve yourself. Get enthusiastic, become an expert in the product. Knowledge = Interest = Knowledge.
37. Enthusiasm, or lack of it, shows up in all things that you do. Your handshake, your look, your tone, everything is reflected by your enthusiasm. Your customers will know if you are enthusiastic.

46. Don't think of sales problems, think of sales solutions.

47. All salespeople see success differently. Some see money as success, others achievement and others happiness. Most do not ever achieve their success, because they do not know what they themselves want. Discover what you consider to be success and find the shortest route to it.

48. We all make mistakes, but the trick is to learn from your mistakes.

49. Surround yourself with high achievers. Success breeds success, just as surely as failure breeds failure.

50. God gave us our life, and God will take it back when he is ready. There is nothing you can do about it, so try to enjoy the journey.

51. Don't ever round numbers off. Using the exact number gives more credibility.

52. Always use specific statements, not generalised ones. For example, instead of saying the car is very fast, say exactly how fast it is.

53. Avoid using what may sound like exaggerated claims, even if they are true. Instead, reduce them to the point where they sound believable.

54. Remember even when it gets dark, you can still see the stars.

55. Remember that selling is an art form, not a science. It requires both instinct and judgement. As a salesperson, skilled in the art of selling, imagination is your only limit to what you can have and achieve in the future.
